Queen Mary of Denmark looked radiant in an orange, floral gown by Australian designer Zimmermann as she led a crowd in song to celebrate the longest day of the year on Friday.
But eagle-eyed fans believe the royal used her moment in the sun to deliver a coded message about her home life and love ‘prevailing’.
The Australian-born Queen, 52, hosted the annual Maratonsang event at Copenhagen University on June 21 which is known as the ‘summer solstice’ across the rest of Europe.
But it wasn’t the event, which has become a staple in the Queen’s calendar, that everyone was talking about. Instead, it was her summer dress and carefully chosen accessories.
It appears as though the Queen was paying respect to Australia, her home, and her love of the King with her curated outfit.

The orange long-sleeved gown is by Aussie fashion-house Zimmermann, a favourite of Mary’s, who often picks Australian or Danish designers.
But the colour and design of the address is equally as important, according to royal watchers.
The orange represents joy and abundance, and is said to ‘rejuvenate’ one’s spirit when looking at colour psychology. The white lilies, on the other hand, represent purity and rebirth.
Her nails, a vibrant red, signal strength and courage,
The outfit was tied together with a simple ‘letter F’, presumably for ‘Frederik’, on a fine golden chain.
Though worn many times by the Queen, fans claim the accessory adds to her ‘cryptic’ message.
As does her timing, with the solstice themes of renewal reflecting her outfit choices and resulting theories.
‘Spiritually, the summer solstice represents rebirth. Astrologically, it symbolises, a season for concentrating on home, family, and personal development, so she is really in tune with everything as usual,’ one fan noted.

‘She is telling us they have started over in their relationship – they are reborn as a couple and in love again. She has found the courage to move past whatever happened,’ one more said.
‘It is so good that she seems happy again, and has found her love for our King after misplacing it.’
The Queen’s speech also highlighted the relationship theme.
‘There’s something exceptionally wonderful about singing together because we feel connected to each other when we do. Whether at school, at church, at party or at marathon like today,’ she said.
The Danish were pleased to have the Queen to help them celebrate the longest day, where they experience 17 hours and 30 minutes of sunshine.
‘I’m always in awe of Mary. How she has managed to adjust to and adopt Danish culture and traditions, as well as learn the language. What a gift she is to us,’ one woman wrote on the Palace Instagram account.
Queen Mary’s ‘fairytale’ relationship to King Frederik has been under the spotlight since November 2023 when the then Crown Prince was spotted out in Spain with another woman – his friend Mexican socialite Genoveva Casanova.
Since then the couple have been less tactile in public, and appear to opt to head to events solo.
They were, however, together on June 6, to celebrate the 175th anniversary of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Denmark.
