Maroons skipper Daly Cherry-Evans has been named the player of the match.
With a 40/20 and two try assists, he was the best player of the park, and help orchestrate another victory for Queensland.
“Yeah, look, obviously really proud to receive an award like this,” Cherry-Evans said. “So clichéd, but I’m so proud of my team tonight, so proud to be the captain of Queensland. I hope everyone’s sitting at home that watched that enjoyed it.”
The 35-year-old was glowing of coach Billy Slater decision to play Selwyn Cobbo on the bench.
“In Billy we trust. He put Selwyn on the bench, it was a master stroke. To be fair, we train for it. Not that we wanted something to go wrong, but we just trained in case it did. Well done to Billy, the selectors and really big pat on the back to the team for adjusting on the run.”
