Stuff the British Stole in development as drama series | TV Tonight

Must read

Stuff the British Stole is in development as a six-part scripted heist caper.

Wooden Horse, which has produced two seasons, is co-producing the project with Warner Bros International Television Production Australia.

According to the producers, it will take “a provocative and sharply observed deep dive into the complexity of history, and identity, in our modern world through an irreverent and wryly humorous lens.”

Anchuli Felicia King (The Sympathizer, The Baby) is creating and writing the series, with Ben Chessell (The Great, Giri Haji, Doctor Who) attached to direct and write, and Kacie Anning (Class of ‘07, Upload, The Other Guy) and playwright Dylan Van Den Berg also on the creative team.

Wooden Horse’s Jude Troy and Richard’s Finlayson are executive producing alongside WBITVP’s Michael Brooks and Hamish Lewis.

Marc Fennell, who created the Stuff the British Stole from his podcast, is also an exec producer.

Fennell told TV Tonight, “After 5 million downloads of the original podcast & now 2 factual TV series it’s become very clear that there’s a million stories within the Stuff The British Stole universe that are dying to be told. The caper that the team is putting together is going to delve into all of the messy & twisted corners of history that people have come to love. I can’t wait to see it come to life.”

Stuff The British Stole marks Fennell’s second podcast-turned-scripted TV series following Nut Jobs, in development with Amazon MGM Studios.
