Gold Coast has avoided an injury disaster, with scans clearing Ben King of a ruptured ACL.

King went down at a training session on Saturday morning and was sent for scans as the club nervously awaited results.

King will train this week and is hopeful of being available in the Suns’ meeting with Fremantle at Optus Stadium next Sunday.

The 23-year old, along with Charlie Curnow, is the equal Coleman Medal leader with 38 goals.

King missed the entire 2022 season with a season knee injury before returning with a 40-goal campaign in 2022.

The 7-6 Suns, who currently sit ninth on the ladder, have their bye this weekend.
