KABUL, Afghanistan — With nearly a month remaining until the third Doha meeting on Afghanistan, Taliban announced that Abdul Manan Omari, the Taliban’s minister of labor and social affairs who is brother of former Taliban leader Mullah Omar, has traveled to Qatar at the head of a delegation.
Taliban stated that Omari is scheduled to meet with the Qatari minister of labor and other senior Qatari officials to discuss the issues faced by Afghan workers in Qatar.
Some political analysts suggest that the visit of Omari, one of the most prominent ministers in the Taliban cabinet and the brother of the former Taliban leader, is significant and may be focused on the upcoming United Nations meeting on Afghanistan.
