Viktor Hovland is the defending champion as the PGA Tour hot foots it to Jack’s Place for the Memorial Tournament.
It’s one of the biggest events on tour outside of the majors and a world-class field has assembled at Muirfield Village in Ohio to tee it up on the Jack Nicklaus-designed 7,571-yard challenge.
Meanwhile, down in Texas, it’s the eighth event in the 2024 LIV Golf League where Jon Rahm and Bryson Dechambeau are among the headline acts at LIV Golf Houston.
The Memorial Tournament tips

The Memorial Tournament tips
Morikawa can play it straight for Memorial glory
It’s easier to make a case for Scottie Scheffler rather than against him at the Memorial given the form he is in.
His record in this year’s majors, Players and five previous signature events (which the Memorial is), he has racked up four wins and four more top tens.
Against him is the quality of the field – though clearly that hasn’t bothered him before – but more importantly the price. He’s 18/5 – there is no value in that.
There are other better-value options though not defending champion Hovland, who is 18/1 but having a poor year by his sky-high standards.
The headline pick is 14/1 poke Collin Morikawa on a track where accuracy is far more important than length.
No one has found fairways quite as frequently as the world No.8 has over the past few events and four top-tens in his last five starts – including the Masters and PGA – show he’s not a million miles away from a seventh win on tour.
Kim’s Canadian charge provides a lift
It’s a really high-class field gathering for the sixth signature event of the PGA Tour calendar and no shortage of live contenders.
On any shortlist ought to be Tom Kim at 45/1 and Keegan Bradley at 60/1.
Both are in the top 35 for driving accuracy this year which is critical with the rough often penal at Muirfield Village. Both are also in really good form.
Kim is one of the bright young things on tour, a winner back at the Shriners in October and he was absolutely flying on the weekend at the Canadian Open, coming home with a 65-64 to finish just three shots behind Robert MacIntyre.
World No.14 Bradley has gone 21-18-2 in his last three starts, is a proven winner and continues to defy the younger guns who are far longer than him off the tee.
Burmester won’t have a problem in Houston
Rahm is the 8/1 favourite to land the honours at LIV Golf Houston but will need to play better than on his last outing, a missed cut at the PGA Championship at Valhalla last month.
DeChambeau was the pick of the LIV players at Valhalla, fighting Xander Shauffele all the way to the finish and he’ll have his fans at 11/1.
A better option might be Dean Burmester at 19/1, another LIV defector who showed proper form at the PGA, where he finished in a tie for 12th.
The South African won back-to-back European tour titles in his home country before Christmas and also won in Miami on the LIV Tour earlier this year.
