Princess Catherine appears to have indicated a side in David and Victoria Beckham’s feud with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle with a subtle nod to the former Spice Girl at Wimbledon.
SkyNews.com.au Digital Reporter Reilly Sullivan says Tom Bower’s biography ‘The House of Beckham’ is “very juicy”.
This week, a new biography on David and Victoria Beckham shone new light on Meghan Markle’s friendship fallout with the former Spice Girl.
“It really goes into detail about not only the fallout between Meghan and Victoria but also how the Beckhams and the Sussexes met,” Mr Sullivan told Sky News Digital Presenter Gabriella Power.
He said one of the biggest shocks was that Victoria gifted Meghan Markle free designer clothing to wear publicly, but it didn’t translate into great publicity for the Beckham fashion brand.
The Princess of Wales garnered a standing ovation as she entered the royal box alongside her daughter Princess Charlotte and her sister Pippa Mathews in the future Queen’s first public appearance since Trooping the Colour.
Kate, 42, stunned in a chic purple dress by Safiyaa and paired the outfit with elegant gold bangles by Halcyon, nude sling backs by Camilla Elphick and a pair of shades by none other than Victoria Beckham.
Victoria, 50, and her husband David, 49, were once part of the Sussexes’ celebrity-studded social circle and attended Harry and Meghan’s 2018 wedding alongside the likes of George and Amal Clooney and Oprah Winfrey.
However, the friendship hit the rocks not long after the Sussexes left the royal family in 2020, allegedly because Meghan accused Victoria of leaking stories to the press, which left her husband David “furious”.
The feud reportedly came to a head with a heated phone call between Harry and David, but the superstar couples have cut ties since the fall out.
Kate’s decision to wear the Beckham-branded shades comes weeks after royal author Tom Bower released the shocking new book The House of Beckham which shone new light on Victoria and Meghan’s feud.
Mr Bower pinpointed the demise of the friendship to Meghan feeling “above” Victoria after marrying Harry in 2018 and gaining a royal title.

“In Meghan’s celebrity world, ranking depended on wealth and fame,” Mr Bower wrote in The House of Beckham.
“As a seasoned operator, Meghan deluded herself that her status in the Royal family placed her above Victoria in the social pecking order.”
The author later revealed that Meghan was disappointed after discovering her new royal life would not include mansions or constant jet setting.
This revelation allegedly caused friction with the Beckhams as Meghan grew jealous of Victoria’s wealth and global fame.
Mr Bower also claimed that Markle asked Victoria to send her free clothing and accessories, but the former Spice girl saw minimal return on Meghan’s unpaid endorsement.
The Beckhams have never publicly acknowledged the end of their friendship with Harry and Meghan, but the power couple appear to be focused on convincing King Charles to grant David a knighthood.
“The Beckhams have decided this brand is just too toxic for them and they might align themselves with the royal family,” royal reporter Sarah Hewson told TalkTV last month.
“Because ultimately you can’t be on both sides in this trans-Atlantic spat.”
