BETHPAGE (4.55 Southwell, nap)

Emma Lavelle’s hurdler has been a revelation since going into handicaps with an easy win at Fontwell on debut before improving again to strike at Ludlow last month. She really enjoyed stepping up to this sort of trip there and a 4lb rise in the weights won’t be enough to put the brakes on. It will be disappointing if she hasn’t got a lot more to offer.

ANGLE LAND (7.30 Wetherby, nb)

She came right back to her best when a close-up third at Goodwood last time. That was a much stronger contest than this and the handicapper has dropped her a handy 2lb. She is now a full 10lb lower than her last winning mark and has shown her best over this distance.

EBEN ZAABEEL (4.37 Salisbury, treble)

He should be suited by today’s step up in trip after a solid fourth at Chester last time. This son of Sea The Stars should have lots of staying power and can improve on just his fourth run under Jim Crowley.

STRIKE (5.42 Salisbury, Lucky 15)

He relished getting back on turf when winning at Windsor last time out. He came home strongly there over this six-furlong trip and fast ground is right up his street.
