LANGHOLM (2.50 Catterick, nap)

Michael Dods’ flyer has an extra 4lb on his back thanks to his blistering win last week. He has to be one of the most consistent handicappers in training as he’s been out of the frame just once in his nine runs this season. He landed his latest deserved success after travelling smoothly at Thirsk from the front. He didn’t have to hit top gear in scoring by more than two lengths with plenty left in the tank. That was a better race than this as he drops to apprentice level over his ideal distance. Catterick is another happy hunting ground for this tough eight-year-old. He has been on the podium here five times already this year. It will take a mighty effort to stop him hitting the back of the net.

FIDELIUS (5.15 Ffos Las, nb)

He has been in flying form and can make it three wins from his past four outings. He switched tactics when scoring at Wolverhampton last time, going from the front and never seeing another horse. His best efforts have come over this minimum trip and he can cope with the 6lb penalty with Rossa Ryan taking over.

CALAFRIO (5.30 Catterick, treble)

He has been banging on the door and can land an overdue success. He was beaten half a length at Thirsk before going back to the Yorkshire track where he got no luck in running when finishing second. The handicapper has been fair with a 1lb rise in the weights and stepping up a furlong gives him more time to hit top gear.

WORRALS (7.50 Ffos Las, Lucky 15)

She has hardly put a foot wrong in her short career and went well again at Lingfield last time despite not seeing out the 1m2f trip. Ralph Beckett wisely drops her in distance here and she won at Goodwood the last time there was some juice in the ground.
