Novak Djokovic’s quarter-final walkover against Alex de Minaur at Wimbledon saw him progress to his 49th Grand Slam semi-final.
The great Serb broke Roger Federer’s record for the most men’s singles last four appearances at Majors at the 2023 US Open.

5. Ivan Lendl – 28
Ivan Lendl reached the last four at Grand Slam tournaments on 28 occasions, having first achieved this at the 1981 French Open, where he was a runner-up.
The Czech-American made his last Major semi-final appearance at the 1991 US Open, which was his ninth run to this stage at Flushing Meadows.
Lendl progressed to the last four seven times at both the Australian Open and Wimbledon, and five times at Roland Garros.
4. Jimmy Connors – 31
Jimmy Connors advanced to the semi-finals at Major tournaments 31 times, with his first last four appearance coming at the 1974 Australian Open, where he won his maiden Grand Slam.
The American reached the last four at a Major for the last time at the 1992 US Open, which was his 14th run to this round in New York.
Connors also made 11 semi-final appearances at Wimbledon, compared to four at the French Open and two at the Australian Open.

3. Rafael Nadal – 38
Rafael Nadal has reached the last four at Grand Slams on 38 occasions, having first made this stage at the 2005 French Open, where he claimed his first Major title.
The Spaniard has made the semi-finals or further 15 times at Roland Garros, eight times at both Wimbledon and the US Open, and seven times at the Australian Open.
2. Roger Federer – 46
Federer progressed to 46 Grand Slam semi-finals, the first of which came at Wimbledon in 2003, when he went on to claim his maiden Major crown.
The Swiss’ last run to a Grand Slam semi-final was at the 2020 Australian Open, which was his 15th run to this stage in Melbourne. Federer reached the last four 13 times at Wimbledon, 10 times at the US Open and eight times at the French Open.

1. Novak Djokovic – 49
En route to winning a record-extending 24th Grand Slam title at the US Open in 2023, Djokovic broke Federer’s record of 46 men’s Major semi-finals.
Djokovic has extended the record with his runs to the last four at the 2024 Australian Open and the 2024 Wimbledon Championships.
The Serbian reached the semi-finals at a Grand Slam for the first time at the 2007 French Open — the first of 12 last four appearances at Roland Garros.
Djokovic has made the last four 13 times at both Wimbledon and the US Open, while he has made 11 runs to this stage of the Australian Open.
