Jamie-Lynn Sigler has revealed she “almost died” from sepsis after a recent surgery.
The Sopranos star, 42, opened up about the terrifying health scare for the first time on her latest MeSsy podcast episode with co-host Christina Applegate.
Sigler said she had returned home from living in India around a year ago when she developed a post-operative reaction.

“Two weeks later, I had a very bad reaction to a surgery and got sepsis and was in the hospital and almost died,” she shared, admitting she had “never told anybody” about it.
The actress said she found herself hospitalised and close to death.
Sigler shared 2023 was her “year of grieving” following the near-death experience.
“I had never in my life been more sad, felt more low,” she spoke candidly.
“But what I learned from India was I had an inability to escape it. I had to sit in it. I would scream in pillows, I would cry to girlfriends,” she opened up.
“I reached out, I sat by myself, I got a therapist, I did all of these things I had never really done before and went through this process that was absolutely necessary.”
Sigler, who is best known for starring on the series The Sopranos from 1999 until 2007, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis when she was just 20-years-old.

Sigler and Applegate, who both suffer from MS, launched their podcast back in March.
Speaking to People ahead of the launch, Sigler opened up about her diagnosis.
The star admitted she kept her diagnosis hidden for years and would make up excuses to explain her gait as her diagnosis affected her walk.

“I’ll probably get fired. Who would want me?” she voiced her fears at the time.
“I had to take a step back and a step away to kind of really reevaluate my life. I really knew I still wanted to act and if I was gonna continue to do that, I had to set boundaries.”
Sigler has continued to act over the years, most recently starring in ABC series Big Sky.
