The ten least popular baby names among Australian parents for 2024 have been revealed.
McCrindle Research released its annual baby names report and while Isla and Oliver topped the list, there were several names that had fallen out of the top 100 altogether.
The girls’ names Charlie, Jasmine, Claire, Gracie and Lilly have decreased in popularity over the last 12 months; so too have the boys’ names Connor, Ashton, Vincent, Elias and Jaxon.
‘Traditional’ boy names including Charles and Harry have also seen the biggest decrease between 2022 and 2023.
Charles just made the cut in the top 100 list and dropped to spot 99, while Harry fell 17 spots and landed at number 35.
It came as no surprise that Oliver reigns supreme among list of boy names for the 11th year in a row. Noah took the second spot followed by Henry, Leo and Theodore.

Isla was dubbed the most popular girls name for Gen Alpha, followed by Amelia, Charlotte and Olivia. Harper made another entrance into the top ten, having featured in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
Luca, William, Charlie and Jack earned the seventh to tenth places in that order.
Isla made a reappearance in the top spot – knocking Charlotte, which reigned supreme for seven years from 2014 to 2021, down to number three.
Amelia sat between them in second place, and Olivia, Mia, Ava and Matilda held their places in fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh respectively.
Harper, Lily and Hazel make an entrance in the top ten for the girls, bumping off Ella, Grace and Willow from 2023.
Ten names entered the top 100 for the first time, including Miles, which had the biggest jump out of any moniker going from 101 right up to 48.
