Alright everybody, how are we feeling? Are we okay? Taking care of ourselves?
It’s officially the middle of the year, and this can be the time when things get a bit rough. It’s the dead of winter, all the long weekends are over and it’s months until Christmas. Months!
We’re taking a little while longer to get out of bed. We’re slumping. Everything’s exponentially harder, like getting up for a workout or cleaning all the keep cups out of the car.
But there’s good news too! Golly, there’s some above-average news. See, the end of financial year isn’t just beneficial for your tax payback. The middle of the year means mid-year markdowns, that magical time when every store you walk past has a big old “sale” decal slapped on its window and the discounts are so good it’d be rude not to.
From a fashion point of view, this is the very best time to stock up on key winter pieces like knits, jackets and chic flats. Most stores are marking down gear from their autumn season to make way for spring, and since we’ve still got two whole months of the cold left, you’re going to get lots more wear out of those staples. Especially if you buy smartly and look for transeasonal items like trenchcoats and luxe sweats.
Here’s our edit of the most immediately wearable pieces from local brands to snap up while they’re marked down.
