Pakistan cricket team head coach Gary Kirsten has delivered a scathing criticism of the Men in Green after their exit from the T20 World Cup 2024. In his assessment report, Kirsten said that there’s “no unity” in the Pakistan side and he has “never seen such a situation” in his coaching career.

Pakistan were knocked out of the T20 World Cup after defeats to the USA and India and their performance was largely under par in the competition. A report of factions within the team also followed their exit.
Now, multiple reports in Pakistan state that Kirsten has said there’s no “unity” in the team.
“There’s no unity in Pakistan’s team. They call it a team, but it isn’t a team. They aren’t supporting each other; everyone is separated, left and right. I’ve worked with many teams, but I’ve never seen such a situation,” Kirsten said as per reports quoting a senior scribe.
Geosuper.tv 4 while quoting sources said that Kirsten was also unhappy with the team’s fitness levels. He also felt that the Pakistan team was behind in the skills department when compared to other teams.
After Pakistan’s defeat to India, Kirsten had said the defeat was a result of their inability to close the game.
“Disappointing loss, that’s for sure,” Kirsten had said. “I knew 120 was not going to be an easy target. If India got only 120, it was always going to be not the easiest. But I think we had the game at 72 for 2 with six or seven overs left. Disappointing not to get across the line from the position we got ourselves into.”
Pakistan’s only wins in the T20 World Cup 2024 came against Canada and Ireland and they finished third in Group A.
