‘This is rubbish’: Rivals hit back with epic troll as footy world reacts to bizarre Heeney post

Must read

The Giants and Swans have engaged in yet another hilarious social media interaction after the Swans posted a video of star Isaac Heeney following his failed AFL Appeals Board hearing on Thursday night.

The Swans posted a video of Heeney thanking the club and its supporters in the wake of his failed appeal, with the Brownlow Medal fancy now ineligible for footy’s highest individual award and unavailable for the Swans’ clash with the Roos on Saturday.

Never one to miss a bit, the GWS Giants social media team and captain Toby Greene hit back in tremendous fashion.

“Hey guys, obviously pretty shattered to get fined again over the weekend,” Greene began.

“I just wanted to jump on here and give a heartfelt sorry to all the Giants fans and the wider AFL community along with my family. I can guarantee one thing is that it will not happen again, that’ll be tough, and I promise to pay the fine all by myself. I’ll do everything I can to make sure this year is a special one. Again, thank you all for your support.”

It comes after the Swans posted the following piece-to-camera from their superstar player:

“Hey guys, obviously extremely disappointed with that result, it’s pretty shattering to be honest. I just wanted to jump on here and give a heartfelt thank you. The show of support from the club top down being Tom Harley, Horse (John Longmire), Leon (Cameron) and our lawyer Duncan, thank you guys very much.”

Port Adelaide champion Kane Cornes did not hold back in his assessment of the video, giggling on his weekly ‘Fireball Friday’ segment on SEN.

“In the gun is Isaac Heeney for this rubbish he posted online,” Cornes said on SEN Breakfast.

“Isaac, you haven’t done your knee, you haven’t missed a shot on goal, after the siren in a grand final, that hasn’t happened, you’re just suspended for a week,” Cornes said.

“We don’t need to thank the community; we don’t need the statement that you’re going to return bigger and better than ever.

“I wouldn’t be thanking the legal representation either, I’d be giving them feedback and it wouldn’t be thanks,” North Melbourne champion and Fox Footy expert David King added.

“Ask for your money back,” Cornes replied.

The Swans are set to try and snap their two-game losing streak when they take on North Melbourne on Saturday, while the Giants head to the MCG to take on Richmond as they look to further enhance their finals credentials.
