Three people have died after a truck and a vehicle collided on the D’Aguilar Highway about 180 kilometres northwest of Brisbane.

Emergency services responded to a call that a car and an 18-wheeler truck crashed just before 6am on Thursday.

Photos of the crash site appear to show the B-Double’s cab rolled over in a ditch beside the road while the rear trailers remain upright on the roadway.

In the car, an 81-year-old woman, 84-year-old man and 54-year-old man sustained critical injuries and were declared dead at the scene.

The male truck driver, a 52-year-old man, was transported to Kingaroy Hospital with minor injuries.

The D’Aguilar Highway is expected to remain closed today as authorities clear the area.

Queensland Police have alerted motorists to avoid the area or expect delays.

Authorities have asked for anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage from the area around the time of the crash to contact Queensland Police.
