Sean Stellato, agent of Giants third-string quarterback Tommy DeVito, had the distinguished honor of meeting Pope Francis in Vatican City, he posted on his Instagram account Wednesday.
Stellato also successfully handed off a custom football as a gift to His Holiness.
“Honored to be in the presence of the Holy Father,” Stellato posted on Instagram. “Thank you Pope Francis for your time, wisdom, and blessings.”
Stellato was in Rome, mixing business and pleasure as he traveled across the sunny peninsula alongside ex-NFL player and client Brandon King, who played five seasons with the Patriots.
“This trip is all about the Four F’s: Football, faith, fashion, and can’t forget the fedora,” Stellato said via an Instagram post on Tuesday.
He told The Post that his introduction to the Pope started at the NFL Honors Ceremony during Super Bowl week when DeVito was up for multiple awards, where he won Celebration of the Year and nailed a hilarious “Goodfellas” impression.
“At the Super Bowl in Vegas, we were on the red carpet for the NFL Honors Ceremony, and I shared my admiration for the Pope and the Vatican during an interview,” Stellato told The Post’s Steve Serby. “That red carpet interview was the impetus for my visit to the Vatican and getting to meet the Pope. This past year has been unbelievable. I am very grateful for all the blessings this year has bestowed upon me, my family and my clients.”
Stellato went from his private hearing with the Pope and would travel directly to Milan with King for what he described as a “football collaboration.”
The agent burst onto the scene thanks to his fashion statement, which included a black fedora and pinstriped suit with a gold bracelet while standing alongside DeVito ahead of his “Monday Night Football” start against the Green Bay Packers this season.
DeVito wound up pulling off an incredible comeback victory against the Packers.
He is not guaranteed a roster spot this offseason, though, as the Giants also brought in Drew Lock to push starter Daniel Jones.
If DeVito – and, by association, Stellato – want to stay in the NFL, the New Jersey native will need to show some significant improvement and have a strong training camp.
