The 2024 Luxury Awards by Travel + Leisure Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Macau were announced on June 13, 2024. Over 20 categories, and 15 countries and territories in consideration for the awards, which are in their second year, defined the broad spectrum of luxury travel in the Asia-Pacific region.
The event, held at Capella Bangkok, was attended by the who’s who of the luxury hospitality industry, including some of the most important business personalities representing brands such as Rosewood, Raffles and Six Senses.

Who are the big winners?
Besides Capella Bangkok, winners from Thailand include JW Marriot Khao Lak Resort & Spa (Best Island + Beach Hotels), InterContinental Khao Yai Resort (Best Upcountry Hotels), Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River (Best Hotel Pools), and Sindhorn Wellness by Resense at Sindhorn Kempinski (Best Hotel Spas).
Other winners from the region include several top hospitality names. Among them are Cambodia’s Raffles Hotel Le Royal (Best City Hotels) and Shinta Mani Wild, a Bensley Collection (Best Upcountry Hotels and Best Island + Beach Hotels); Regent Hong Kong (Best City Hotels) and Fullerton Ocean Park (Best Hotel Pools); Malaysia’s EQ Kuala Lumpur (Best City Hotels and Best Hotel Pools) and The Ritz-Carlton, Langkawi (Best Upcountry Hotels and Best Island + Beach Hotels); Singapore’s Raffles Singapore (Best City Hotels) and Marina Bay Sands (Best Hotel Pools).
The winners were chosen by popular vote. More than 200,000 votes were cast through Travel + Leisure Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, and Macau’s online voting forum from January to March 2024.
A special print edition released
Travel + Leisure Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, and Macau also released a special print edition, The Hotels Issue 2024, at the event. The special issue is available on newsstands across Southeast Asia and is part of their mission to relaunch special print editions of the magazines, which started with their Tastemakers 2023 issue in December.
The 2024 print publication lineup includes Family Travel (April), The Hotels Issue (June), Travel for Good (September) and Tastemakers 2024 (December).
The 2024 Luxury Awards were presented in partnership with The Mall Group and featured Remy Martin cognac and Lady Trieu gin via Alchemy Thailand; Dewar’s whisky via Bacardi Thailand Limited; Chalong Bay rum and Signature Cocktail Co. via Bootleggers Group; Acqua Panna natural mineral water and S.Pellegrino sparkling water; Orri adaptogenic beverages; and Panpuri Wellness.
The evening included a live band performance from Tontrakul, a folk band from Thailand’s Isan region, as well as DJ performances by Alex Edels and Ashima.
On the occasion, Björn Rettig, CEO of BurdaLuxury, said, “I am delighted to celebrate the second annual Luxury Awards. This event showcases the excellence and innovation within the hospitality and travel sector, and we are honoured to highlight the remarkable destinations and experiences that continue to make Asia Pacific the epicentre of luxury travel.”
