When Calls The Heart star Mamie Laverock is on life support after falling from a hospital balcony while being treated after a “medical emergency”.

The Canadian actress, 19, fell five stories from a balcony at Vancouver Hospital, after being transferred from hospital in Winnipeg, according to an update on a GoFundMe page set up after her initial, unspecified, medical emergency.

“We are deeply saddened to report that on May 26th, Mamie, who has been in intensive treatment for the past two weeks, was escorted out of a secure unit of the hospital and taken up to a balcony walkway from which she fell five storeys,” the GoFundMe organised by her family read.

“She sustained life-threatening injuries, has undergone multiple extensive surgeries, and is currently on life support.

“We are all devastated, in shock, at this intensely difficult time.”

The GoFundMe originally revealed Laverock had suffered a medical emergency in Winnipeg on May 11 when her mother, Nicole Compton, “was able to get there in time to save her life”.

She was taken to hospital in Winnipeg and then transferred to Vancouver, where her family said her recovery was “unclear … but she is alive and is showing signs of improvement”.

That was until the fall.

Actor Johannah Newmarch, who plays Laverock’s When Calls The Heart on-screen mother, commented on the GoFundMe, saying: “I love this family, my heart is broken.

“A devastating time for all who care for Mamie. Please help if you can.

“They need all the support they can get to make it through this.”

When Calls The Heart producer Hallmark Media told People: “We are deeply saddened to hear the news about Mamie.

“As a beloved member of our When Calls The Heart community, we wish her and her family peace, comfort, and many prayers during this difficult time.”

Laverock played Rosaleen Sullivan on the show from 2014 to 2023.

She has also had roles in the Hallmark original Wedding Of Dreams, the 2017 horror The Hollow Child, Netflix’s A Series Of Unfortunate Events in 2019 and the 2020 Lifetime movie Spotlight On Christmas.
