MOREHEAD, Ky. — A 6-foot-4 wing player from Ellicott City, Md., Tyler Brelsford is transferring to Morehead State’s Men’s Basketball program after three seasons at Bryant.

Brelsford started all 33 games for the Bulldogs in 2023-24 and helped his team to one NCAA Tournament berth and one College Basketball Invitational berth during his three seasons.

“Tyler is a winner. He’s been a part of two 20-win teams, a regular season championship, a tournament championship, and played in the NCAA tournament,” said head coach Jonathan Mattox. “He has good positional size, can really shoot the ball from three and can make plays off the bounce. Tyler understands the toughness it takes to win at a high level and competes on the defensive end. Tyler really loved the winning tradition at Morehead State, and with his winning pedigree, it was a perfect fit.”

In 2023-24, he averaged 6.8 ppg, 2.3 rpg and 1.6 apg while shooting 80 percent at the free throw line. His season-high came vs. Springfield with 20 points. In 2021-22, he registered 12 points in the NCAA First Four against Wright State.

Brelsford scored more than 500 points and shot 40 percent during his time at Bryant. He opened his career as a freshman at George Washington in 2020-21.

He prepped at Mount Saint Joseph in Maryland, where he led his squad to a 29-6 record as a senior, earning All-MIAA honors. He also helped MSJ to the MIAA Championship and Junior Orange Bowl Championship, where he was named the MVP. He was recognized as First Team All-BCL.
