Uber passenger killed in Brisbane hit-and-run identified

An Uber passenger killed in a hit-and-run incident in Brisbane has been identified as 30-year-old Ryan Grafton.

Grafton was travelling in a Toyota Camry that collided with a Ford Mondeo at the Boundary Rd-Progress Rd intersection in Wacol, in the city’s outer west, about 2am on Tuesday.

The Mondeo driver fled the scene, leaving bricklayer Grafton for dead.

Paramedics raced to the scene but he could not be saved.

His grieving family told 7NEWS he would be missed.

“Ryan was a kind person. He wasn’t perfect but he had the biggest heart,” they said in a statement.

“He was loved by his family and friends.”

A 26-year-old female passenger was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition and the Uber driver also suffered back injuries.

A major manhunt has been launched to find the driver, with police urging him to come forward.

Anyone with information should contact police.

It is unclear if the Ford involved in the crash was stolen.
