The Boozer twins, Cameron and Cayden, have been two of the most notable players in the Class of 2025 recruiting cycle.
Sure, their father is former Duke star and NBA veteran Carlos Boozer, but regardless of their last name, the twins have proven they are among the best players in the country.
Although Cameron draws a ton of attention as the No. 2 overall player in the class, Cayden’s recruitment as a five-star talent is just as intense. He spoke to Sam Lance of ZagsBlog to discuss his current recruitment, as the UNC basketball program is one of five teams he cites as being most involved.
UNC: “They have a lot of good guards. RJ Davis, Elliot Cadeau, all those guards are really good. They help their guards play well and they produce a lot of wins because of those guards. So I feel like it’s a great playstyle for a guard.
He’s (Hubert Davis) just a great coach, a good person to talk too. He’s one of the best coaches in college right now, so it’s always good to talk to him, a coach like that.”
The Tar Heels were mentioned, along with Miami, Arkansas (with John Calipari taking the job a few weeks back), Kentucky (with new head coach Mark Pope), and, of course, Duke, as the teams most active in his recruitment. As he’s already visited Duke, Miami, Florida, and Kentucky on official visits, it’s possible that a stop to Chapel Hill could be brewing over the next couple of months.
What’s interesting in this recruitment is the fact that the twins may not be a package deal. Sure, the possibility of playing together at the next level is likely very enticing, but it doesn’t appear as if the duo are set in stone as to having to commit to the same school.
The UNC basketball program would love to attract both players to Chapel Hill. However, this recruitment seems individualized, as the Tar Heels would welcome one (or both) to the program if they elect to commit to North Carolina.
