UNK women’s basketball summer skills camp aims to teach potential future Lopers

KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) – The UNK Lopers women’s basketball team hosted a skills camp on Tuesday. The clinic was for individual development featuring training on dribbling, passing and shooting.

The camp was for athletes in 6th-12th grade and aimed to further develop their basketball skills.

“With the amount of different grade levels that are here, we can hopefully have future Lopers when they’re young, as they grow up and then some of the old kids will be recruitable players and we know the more future Lopers we can have in the gym the better of it is for us, the camp gets better, so we’re really excited to be able to use this opportunity for recruiting, as well as for building relationships,” said Drew Johnson, UNK women’s basketball coach.

A second clinic session will be held June 26th & 27th at the Health & Sports Center in Kearney. Registration is still open on the UNK website.
