LOGAN, Utah — Utah State head women’s basketball coach Wesley Brooks announced the addition of Taliyah Logwood (tuh-lee-uh) to the team’s roster on Wednesday.

“We’re excited to add Taliyah to our team,” Brooks said. “She’s a two-time state champion and a very dynamic athlete. She has the ability to attack the rim, and she’s going to really help us in our full court press.”

Logwood, a 5-foot-9 guard/forward from Richmond, California, will be a freshman in 2024-25. She joins the Aggies after an accomplished playing career at Oakland (California) Technical High School, where she was ranked the No. 12 player in the state by NorCalPreps. As a senior in 2023-24, Logwood averaged 17.2 points and 3.7 steals per game to earn OAL first team all-league honors.

As a junior in 2022-23, Logwood helped the Bulldogs to a Division 1 state championship as she was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player. Her squad also won a Division 3 state title in 2021-22. Individually, Logwood was named the Sabrina Ionescu Tournament Most Valuable Player in both 2021 and 2022.

Logwood also played club basketball for West Coast Elite and Cal Ballaz. With West Coast Elite, she was named the club’s tournament MVP five times.
