Vandals smash windows of 17 cars in Brisbane spree

A group of vandals has gone on a senseless rampage, smashing more than a dozen car windows in Brisbane’s south.

They were caught on film and police called for witnesses to help track down the culprits.  

The spree happened in the early hours of Monday morning in Annerley.

Residents woke up to find their cars damaged, with police saying 17 cars were targeted.

One person said they only had third party insurance so it would cost them hundreds of dollars to repair.

“We are all paying $800 out of pocket,” they said.

Another resident said she had two windows smashed.

“It seems like a bunch of kids that decided they wanted to have a good time,” the local said.

The vandals hit Juliette street, Victoria Terrace and Prince and Duke streets.

Many of the cars will have to be towed away and wait to be fixed.

One car seen in the area at the time is clearly identifiable.

Investigators are calling on the public to get in touch if they have any information.
