Viral pics the current generation would ‘never understand’

Nostalgic images of a video store have lit up the internet, with many reminiscing about how good Friday nights used to be.

Posted to the Facebook group Australian 90s 00s Nostalgia Group with the caption “Friday nights were the best,” the post attracted more than 15,000 reactions.

The group, which boasts 100,000 followers, quickly set the comments alight, with many commenters unveiling their past stories with the iconic institution.

Kallie Kitas wrote how she used to go to a video store every Friday night with her brothers.

“First, we had Maccas after school. Then we went to Blockbuster and picked our movies and PlayStation games,” she began.

“Walked passed the old men who got embarrassed for renting porn dvd’s lmao.

“Of course, I got the white paper bag to put my favourite lollies in to finish it. Best memories.”

She added that the new generation would never understand what a “mad feeling” it used to be.

“Use to rent a video game and play it for 24 hours straight for maximum value. Lol, it was so good when mum was too busy to get it back on time, and ya got an extra night outta it, lol,” they said.

Others loved the fact that the video store was their first job.

“Video Ezy was my first job,” one wrote.

“Same here! Was the best job,” another replied.

“My family owned one, so I was given shifts as soon as I was old enough to work. Honestly, it was such a good job,” said another.
