Chief Marketing Officer William White announced the change on LinkedIn, saying it is a fantastical, inspirational, and fun addition.

Customers can shop in three digital environments designed by online creators.

The three sections, called Y’allternative, Go Chromatic, and So Jelly, are Western, metallic, and sea-themed environments where shoppers can find matching home, beauty, and fashion products.

“Walmart Realm pushes boundaries as a first-of-its-kind digital shopping experience with influencer-led virtual shops in immersive worlds,” White wrote in the statement.

“At Walmart, we’re embracing innovation with e-commerce experiences designed with the virtual world at the heart.

“This latest innovation is reshaping the retail landscape, and we’re thrilled to bring it to our customers.”

Customers can enjoy gaming elements and giveaways on the virtual store.

Walmart partnered with Emperia to develop the digital store, which has also created virtual shops for brands like Bloomingdale’s and Tommy Hilfiger, reports Retail Dive.

MORE WALMART CHANGES

The retailer recently confirmed it would offer its InHome delivery service to residents in five additional states.

The service allows customers to order groceries online or through the app, which employees deliver directly to their kitchens and fridges.

Walmart called the service “the ultimate in delivery convenience,” adding that it will be available to more than 45 million homes.

Walmart shoppers in Michigan throughout Detroit, Warren, and Dearborn will get the updated service first.

InHome will then expand to shoppers in Boston, Massachusetts; Minneapolis, Minnesota; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and San Bernardino, California.

Some Walmart shoppers have complained about the new self-checkout policy, calling it “militant and slow.”

One shopper even said they would leave their cart behind if they saw the policy in action.
