Golden State Warriors broadcaster Bob Fitzgerald will handle 2024 Olympic basketball play-by-play duties for NBCUniversal, it was announced.
Fitzgerald, a multi-time Emmy Award winner, will be working his sixth Olympics for NBCUniversal, having previously called basketball at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and 2012 London Olympics. He also called water polo at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, basketball radio play-by-play at the 2004 Athens Games and swimming at the 1996 Atlanta Games. The Olympic Games Paris 2024 are scheduled for July 26-Aug. 11.
Fitzgerald has served as the television voice for the Warriors for the past 27 seasons and has been calling Warrior games for 31 years. During the 2024 NBA Playoffs, Fitzgerald worked for ESPN Radio. In addition, he has called NFL and college football games for Sports USA Radio as well as the San Francisco 49ers.
