Who they missed: The five players who were overlooked by the coaches in Round 11

Must read

Which players should have been given coaches votes for their Round 11 performances?

Champion Data’s Daniel Hoyne has named the five players who were perhaps overlooked by the coaches on the weekend.

The below guys ranked high in Champion Data’s ratings yet did not receive any votes.

See the five players below:

Nick Blakey (Sydney)

“That was his best game for a month,” Hoyne said on SEN’s Sportsday.

“Third highest rated player on the ground, but didn’t get a vote.”

Joe Richards (Collingwood)

“He might be a bit of an out for Collingwood over the next few weeks (with his foot injury).

“Third highest rated player on the ground, third highest rated general forward for the weekend.

“He had 22 disposals, three score assists, quite crafty and important to Collingwood’s ground ball game side forward 50.”

Jase Burgoyne (Port Adelaide)

“I want to throw this guy on the agenda, I haven’t seen him do this before.

“That was the highest rated game of his season, third highest rated player on the ground.

“Please don’t jump down my throat, but the profile that he had against North Melbourne was Errol Gulden-like in terms of being get back, intercept – no one had more intercepts on the ground than he did – and 12 contested possessions. That’s what Errol does.”

Nick Hind (Essendon)

“Fourth highest rated player on the ground and din’t get a vote.

“That was his highest rated game of the season. 25 disposals and two goals.”

Alex Neal-Bullen (Melbourne)

“Third highest rated player on the ground.

“Only Christian Petracca and Max Gawn had more impact in terms of what they did from their ball winning aspect on that game.

“He attended 11 centre bounces on the weekend, Kozzie Pickett in there for 20. Something a little bit different there for Melbourne.”
