York City can confirm that forward Will Davies’ contract has been mutually terminated with immediate effect.
The 25-year-old joined the Minstermen in November 2023 after making an impressive start to the season with National League South side Braintree, netting eight goals in fifteen appearances.
A switch to York saw the forward play 20 times in the Vanarama National League, with an appearance in the Isuzu FA Trophy too, scoring five goals in Minstermen colours.
Davies netted his first City goal against Oxford City, in what was his first starting appearance at the LNER Community Stadium, picking up the Waitrose Man of the Match award that night.
Other goals, which picked up points for City, followed for the forward against Gateshead, Oxford City, Maidenhead United and Oldham Athletic.
We wish Will well in his future endeavours and thank him for his efforts whilst with the Minstermen.
