“On arrival, police located the body of a man. While he is yet to be formally identified, he is believed to be aged in his 60s,” NSW Police said in a statement.

The man’s wife, also believed to be aged in her 60s, was arrested at the scene and taken to Gladesville police station.

Police have confirmed domestic violence is one line of inquiry for investigators.

Nine News reported the couple’s son also lived at the home and was in shock.

At 11.40pm on Saturday night, the woman was charged with murder.

Neighbours on the wide and leafy cul-de-sac on Saturday said it was a quiet and multicultural area.

Anyone who has information about the incident is urged to contact Ryde police.
