MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin women’s basketball head coach Marisa Moseley announced Wednesday the addition of Spanish international Alba Martín Mesa for the 2024-25 season.

Martín Mesa comes to Madison from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in Spain, where she averaged 14 points, three steals, and six assists per game this past season for SPAR Gran Canaria.

“A native of the Canary Islands, Alba Martín Mesa comes to Madison having represented her country at every level from the age of 12,” Moseley said. “A floor general and skilled passer, Alba will be a great addition to our backcourt. I am excited to have another player with vision and play making abilities to help take our program to the next level.”

Martín Mesa aided her Under-17 team to the title of Spanish Champions, following up with a third-place finish at the U18 level.

Martín Mesa is the daughter of Elena Mesa Armas and Gerardo Martín Lorenzo.
