Women’s Golf: Macalester Ranks 11th in Division III in Team GPA – Macalester College Athletics

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College women’s golf team posted a collective grade point average of 3.759 during the 2023-24 academic year to rank 11th among NCAA Division III women’s golf programs, the Women’s Golf Coaches Association announced today.

Earlier this month, senior Phebe Chen (South Barrington, Ill./Barrington), junior Kirstyn Hope Barsola (New Braunfels, Texas/Academy of the Holy Angels) and sophomores Emily Bruce (Orleans, Ontario/Asbury College), Bailey Lengfelder (Renton, Wash./Hazen), Scarlett Liu (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Preparatory) and Sydney Ohr (Prospect Heights, Ill./John Hersey) were recognized as WGCA All-American Scholars, which requires student-athletes to have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher.

Aurora University ranked first in Division III with a team GPA of 3.890, while North Dakota State led all programs with a team GPA of 3.945. Macalester was one of four MIAC teams to rank in the top 25 of Division III, including Bethel (seventh), St. Olaf (10th) and St. Catherine (25th).
