Married At First Sight’s Cam Merchant said he was in a “world of hurt” after contracting a stomach bug while on vacation in Bali this week.
The Season 6 groom, who’s travelling solo in Bali for a best friend’s wedding, shared his nightmare experience from the bed of his hotel room.

“Bali belly strikes,” wrote Cam, 40, in a video explaining his bed rest. “Turn of events, up from 2:30am in a world of hurt and depleted of everything within me…”
In the video, and in true Cam humour, the groom slowly reached for a bottle of water before he posted an update with fans.
“Well this is fun… Not such a moment of joy,” he said about what was supposed to be a joyous weekend.
“The cold shivers, the shakes, the hot sweats… make up your mind Bali belly, which one is it?

“One depleted human right here, right now 😂😅👍,” he said.

“I don’t think there’s anything worse than being sick on holiday,” Cam added before revealing he underwent an IV treatment to help with recovery.
Following the treatment, Cam shared a photo from his bed writing: “Thank you to many for checking in. Feeling much better just a slow recovery.”
Cam, who’s married in real life to on-screen wife Jules Robinson, had luckily already celebrated his best friend’s wedding, so can now focus on a little R&R.
Back home in Sydney, wife Jules, 42, is preparing for the arrival of their second child.

Cam and Jules, who already share son Ollie, three, have been updating their followers throughout their journey – and while the couple are waiting for a surprise, fans are convinced Jules is having a baby girl.

“The whole world is telling me I’m having a girl! 🤷🏼♀️😂” Jules wrote on Instagram.
“We have two perfect names for whatever little bundle of beautifulness we will get and we love these names, they feel right already!”
Jules and Cam’s love story began when they met and tied the knot on Season 6 of MAFS.
As the couple went through their final Commitment Ceremony, Cam made MAFS history by getting down on one knee, and asked Jules to marry him again in a legally-binding wedding.
They tied the knot on November 17, 2019 in Sydney.

Jules and Cam announced their second pregnancy news in February, three years after they welcomed their first son Ollie in 2020.
