HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) – The WYMT Tony Turner Golf Classic presented by Food City is coming up.
The classic began in 2003 in honor of former WYMT Station Manager Tony Turner.
Approximately $57,000 have been awarded to 44 high school seniors through the classic.
WYMT General Manager Neil Middleton said giving back to the community was part of Turner’s mission.
“That’s something Tony always wanted to do, always tried to do, was to give back to his local community and he wanted to also invest in young students,” said Neil Middleton.
The classic is at Stonecrest Golf Course in Prestonsburg on June 7.
The cost per team to play is $500. There are a limited amount of spots available.
