INSIDE MAIL – WYONG

RACE 1

Pink Shalala pulled up lame after finishing last at his debut at Canterbury last June. Ready to kick off his latest campaign after two good barrier trial wins at Rosehill. Mostro was ridden along early but couldn’t lead when down the track behind Braveheart over 1150m on the Kensington first-up. Looks better suited stepping up to the 1350m. Resurrected has placed in four of his seven starts and won’t be far away first-up.

Bet: Pink Shalala to win

RACE 2

Euromaster was runner-up in both runs last campaign including when resuming here on Dec 23 behind Give Me Joy. Was second in both runs this time in including here on June 6. Gets his chance to break through. Fireup was third to Kerguelen in his Warwick Farm trial on May 7. Will take benefit from his debut third behind Tycoon Artie over 1200m at Goulburn on June 3. Ranhita ran a cheeky race at big odds when third to She’s All It at Hawkesbury first-up before a fifth here last start.

Bet: Euromaster to win

RACE 3

Buffett appreciated the step up to 1600m third-up when he closed from midfield to finish second behind Evenflow here on June 13. Drawn the outside gate but stays at the mile and will go close. Skip A Beat came from last in the field of six when a head second behind Scissor Me Timbers over 1400m at Nowra last start. Blinkers on for the first time and step up to the mile looks ideal. Prefer The Wink resumes here and can figure in the finish.

Bet: Buffett to win

RACE 4

Last Druid was a solid second to Flyer on debut at Sandown before racing wide when seventh at Pakenham in February. Trialling well ahead of his return. Love And Light debuted with a second behind Shaken over this track and distance last July before a second to French Endeavour at Warwick Farm. Returns for her second campaign after two trial wins at Randwick. Patience Is Virtue is a debutant by More Than Ready. Impressive in leading all-the-way to win her Rosehill trial by three lengths on June 11.

Bet: Last Druid each-way

RACE 5

Lygon Street sat midfield before taking off approaching the 600m when second behind Rico Suave at his Australian debut over this track and distance on June 13. It was his first run since last August and he will take plenty of improvement from it. Tenniel was doing her best work late when fourth behind Evenflow over 1600m when resuming here on June 13. Will appreciate the step up to 2000m and was runner-up at this trip second-up last campaign. Tommy Thug has claims on his Australian debut second at Newcastle.

Bet: Lygon Street to win

RACE 6

It’s A Wonder came from last to finish a three-quarter length third to Invincible Spy in the MTC Guineas at Wagga on May 3. Was a similar margin fourth to Bright Red on a heavy track at Randwick on June 8. Back in grade and will take beating. Aix En Provence broke through with a tough win from Our Cosmic Belle in a Super Maiden at Kembla before a close second to Bonus Tempus there last start. Will be prominent again. Barazin will be better for his third at Newcastle at his Australian debut

Bet: It’s A Wonder to win

RACE 7

Taking The Mikki was trapped three and four-wide without cover here last start but was gallant in defeat when a half-head second to Life Coach over 1200m. Scored a big win from Barcelona Express on a Heavy 10 over 1250m at Taree before that. Drawn to get an ideal run. Spats Pav Bowie battled away for fourth behind Unstopabull over 1200m first-up. He is much better second-up and extra trip suits. There There was held up in the straight when an unlucky seventh at Canterbury last start.

Bet: Taking The Mikki to win

RACE 8

Drama Dodger kicked off last campaign with back-to-back wins over 1000m on the heavy at Muswellbrook and 1200m on a good track at Gosford. Wasn’t pushed in her Wyong trial on June 19. Cosy Corner resumed with a third behind In Flight over 1100m on a heavy track at Gosford on May 16. Given time to get over the run and a good t slow surface won’t be a disadvantage. Morpheus Bragi drops back from city grade.

Bet: Drama Dodger each-way
