His passenger, a 19-year-old woman, was taken to the same hospital with stomach pain, while a 38-year-old man behind the wheel of the truck suffered back injuries.
The Lancer was destroyed in the crash, according to a police spokeswoman.
The crash also forced the truck onto train tracks, stopping trains in both directions.
The Bruce Hwy was closed in both directions in the area for several hours but has since been reopened.
Forensic crash experts are investigating.
